The electric 2-level wide toaster combines both strengths of the lower models: the wide grille format (520 × 210 mm) of the 1-level wide and the double pace of the 2-level standard — all in a 685 × 275 mm footprint. Two stacked 520 × 210 mm grilles, 3.6 kW total, stainless build. At €460 excl. VAT, it is the most complete model of the element range — suited to establishments serving both long bread formats (baguettes, hot-dog buns, ciabattas) in high volume.
For which establishment?
- High-volume baguette sandwich shop at lunch: the baguette sandwich means toasting a half-baguette (25–30 cm) per order. In a lunch service with 30 to 40 orders per hour, a single grille creates a bottleneck. The 2 levels of 520 mm let you handle two half-baguettes at once per level, i.e. 4 half-baguettes per batch — the throughput needed for an active sandwich service.
- Fast restaurant with a hot-dog or grilled-baguette menu: when hot bread is a central element of the flagship product (hot dog, steak-frites in a baguette, sub sandwich), the 520 mm format and double capacity let you send the bread at pace without slowing the prep chain.
- Caterer or bakery with toast or bruschetta service: bruschetta or premium toast means toasting slices of sourdough or grain bread of irregular format (20–40 cm). The 520 mm grille holds all formats with no constraint.
- Catering establishment that has outgrown the 1-level wide or the 2-level standard: when volume exceeds what a single-grille toaster or a short-grille 2-level allows, the 2-level wide is the natural step before moving to conveyors (€1,560+).
520 × 210 mm grille over 2 levels: what it changes in service
The 2-level + large grille (520 mm) combination versus the other models:
- Vs 1-level wide (€360): doubles the capacity, +€100 — if the lunch throughput justifies 40+ toasts/h, the €100 gap pays back fast.
- Vs 2-level standard (€360): same throughput in number but accepts long breads with no extra cutting — the advantage is operational (less bread handling before toasting).
- Vs conveyor 210 mm (€1,560): €1,100 cheaper, manual operation (the operator loads and unloads), no automation — but suited to establishments where the pace does not yet justify a conveyor.
3.6 kW and 2-level operation
The two levels of the toaster are independent, each with its own element (1.8 kW per level). Two operating modes possible:
- Simultaneous mode: load both levels at once. Identical cycle time for both. Simultaneous output of two batches — ideal to serve several orders at the same time.
- Alternating mode: while level 1 heats, load level 2; empty level 1 when it is ready, restart while level 2 heats. Near-continuous flow with no interruption — the best hourly pace.
3.6 kW on single-phase 230V = about 15.6 A — a dedicated 16 A circuit is recommended for both levels at once.

Toaster range comparison
| Model | Grille(s) | Throughput | Long bread? | Price excl. VAT |
| 1 level compact | 375 × 200 mm | ~20 toasts/h | No (≤35 cm) | €300 |
| 1 level wide | 520 × 210 mm | ~20 toasts/h | Yes (≤50 cm) | €360 |
| 2 levels compact | 2 × 375 × 200 mm | ~40 toasts/h | No (≤35 cm) | €360 |
| 2 levels wide (this model) | 2 × 520 × 210 mm | ~40 toasts/h | Yes (≤50 cm) | €460 |
| Conveyor 210 mm | 210 mm belt | ~400 slices/h | No | €1,560 |
| Conveyor 280 mm | 280 mm belt | ~400 slices/h | Yes (wide format) | €1,680 |
The 2-level wide (€460) is the last element model before the conveyors (€1,560+). If throughput exceeds ~40 toasts/hour and needs automation, the conveyor is the next step.
What restaurateurs ask
- When is it better to move to a conveyor rather than buy the 2-level wide?
- Moving to a conveyor is justified when three conditions are met: throughput above 40–50 toasts/hour in active service, a need for absolute consistency (same toast level at every pass), and an operator who needs to be freed from the toast post for other tasks. The conveyor is automatic — bread enters one side and comes out toasted the other with no monitoring. At €1,560, it is €1,100 more than the 2-level wide. In a fast-food service with 60+ toasts/hour and a single operator on post, the conveyor frees up time and cuts toasting errors.
- Can seeded or fragile-crust breads be toasted in this toaster?
- Yes. The element toaster heats by radiation — with no direct contact with the bread, no mechanical pressure (unlike a panini-type press-contact toaster). Seeded breads (sesame, poppy), delicate brioche breads or small crusty rolls toast without crushing the crust or dropping the seeds into a mechanism. It is an advantage of the element toaster over the conveyor for breads with a fragile surface.
- Can the 2-level wide replace a conveyor in a fast food?
- For a fast food with structured service and high pace (100+ toasts/hour), the conveyor is the suitable industrial solution. The 2-level wide (40 toasts/hour max) can help out or complement a conveyor but does not replace it at high volume. However, for a fast snack or a sandwich shop with 30–50 covers per service and a variety of bread formats, the 2-level wide is often the best cost/capacity ratio — without the investment and maintenance of a conveyor.
- Do the grilles need regular oiling or maintenance?
- No. The stainless-steel grilles of an element toaster need no oiling. Maintenance is limited to: emptying the crumb tray at the end of daily service (avoids fire risk from crumbs carbonising), wiping the stainless walls with a damp cloth weekly, and running a soft brush over the grilles to remove carbonised bread residue. No special product required — hot water and a neutral degreaser are enough to clean the stainless grilles.
