The difference between an entry-level induction hob and the Intense range does not show on the spec sheet — it is measured at the end of service, when the post has run 8 hours non-stop. The PIS30 is designed for this scenario: lunch service + dinner service, continuous cooking, with no thermal safety cut-out, no forced cooling cycle. It is the hob a brigade chef can leave running unattended, knowing it will be there until closing.
For which establishment, for which brigade use?
- Restaurant with continuous service: lunch and dinner, 5 to 7 days a week. The Intense range is sized for this pace with no performance degradation or end-of-service overheating.
- Sauce and delicate-cooking post in a brigade: the Intense range's temperature control offers higher precision than the Access range — ideal for long reductions, butter sauces, creams and veloutés that need steady heat with no jolts.
- Hotel and banqueting: a hotel kitchen with long services and high standards. The Intense range's reliability aligns with the continuity demands of a hotel service.
- Intensive catering kitchen: school, company, care home — 1 daily service but at high throughput and continuous time. The PIS30 holds this pace with no interruption.
Why 3 kW for the Intense range when the Access range offers 3.5 and 5 kW? The Intense range is calibrated for permanent use, not maximum instantaneous power. 3 kW continuous permanent is more demanding on the electronics than a 5 kW peak followed by a pause. That is what the PIS30 is designed to handle — continuity, not the sprint.

What restaurateurs ask
- Why does the Intense range cost twice as much for a lower power?
- The power of a professional induction hob is just one parameter among others. The Intense range has higher-grade electronic components, a cooling system sized for continuous use, and more precise temperature regulation. These elements cost more to produce and justify the price. For occasional use, the Access range is enough. For an 8 h/day restaurant service, the Intense range is the right investment.
- Is this Intense hob also suited to low-temperature cooking (sous-vide, sauces)?
- Yes, it is even one of the Intense range's strengths. The regulation precision holds stable low temperatures (60-90°C) over long periods — ideal for slowly reduced sauces, holding stocks or low-temperature sous-vide cooking (with a suitable bath and a control thermometer).
- Can non-magnetic stainless steel containers be used on this induction hob?
- No. All induction hobs, Access or Intense range, need magnetic-bottomed containers: magnetic 18/10 stainless steel, enamelled steel, cast iron. Non-magnetic 18/8 stainless and bare aluminium do not work. Test with a magnet: if it sticks to the container base, it is compatible.
- Is it possible to have 2 zones on a single appliance without going to three-phase?
- Yes — the PID30 (Intense range, 2 zones, 6 kW) runs on single-phase 230V and offers two simultaneous cooking posts. It is the solution to double induction cooking capacity with no three-phase and no adding two separate appliances.
