The NDE80 electric döner grill is the high-capacity version of the electric range — 80 kg of meat a day, 4.2 kW, three-phase 400V supply. It is the equipment for kitchens that need the volume of an NDG80 gas but cannot or will not use gas. Same format as the NDE60 (500 × 500 mm) but 1010 mm tall for a larger meat column, and doubled power (4.2 kW vs 2.8 kW).
⚠️ Three-phase 400V supply required: the NDE80 is powered exclusively on three-phase 400V. Before any order, check that the premises' installation has an accessible three-phase board at the planned location. If not, the NDE60 (40 kg/day, single-phase 230V) is the direct alternative on a standard installation.
For which establishment?
The NDE80 is for high-volume professional kitchens with no gas available:
- Kebab restaurants in a shopping arcade or commercial zone: no possible gas connection, but a three-phase board available (standard in modern large commercial premises). The NDE80 produces 80 kg/day — 350 to 450 kebabs a day — with no gas constraint.
- High-capacity dark kitchens: production premises optimised for three-phase, often already equipped. The NDE80 fits into unified electric equipment with no gas-appliance ventilation constraints.
- Catering kitchens and high-volume fast catering: spit meat is a component of a wider menu — kebab wrap, gyros rice bowl, al pastor tacos — needing high daily throughput.
- Establishments under strict gas-use restrictions: some buildings, industrial zones or landlord specifications forbid gas appliances. The electric NDE80 is the compliant solution.
NDE80 vs NDG80: three-phase electric or high-capacity gas?
Both reach 80 kg/day but by different paths:
- NDG80 gas (€1,560): 14 kW of heat output, direct flame heat, the flavour characteristic of gas, gas connection + ventilation mandatory. €420 cheaper than the NDE80.
- NDE80 electric (€1,980): 4.2 kW on three-phase 400V, no gas or combustion-ventilation constraint, simpler installation in suitable premises. €420 more for the "gas-free" advantage.
If the premises have gas and compliant ventilation, the NDG80 is cheaper and more powerful. The NDE80 is justified only when gas is inaccessible or forbidden — and three-phase is available.
4.2 kW on three-phase: what the power changes
The NDE80 at 4.2 kW is 50% more powerful than the NDE60 at 2.8 kW. Concretely:
- Heat-up 30 to 40% faster — the column is ready in 15 minutes versus 20 to 25 minutes for the NDE60.
- Better temperature holding on a large column (80 kg loaded) — the power compensates for the thermal volume to heat.
- Higher service pace: less "recovery" time between two slices — the surface stays at optimal temperature in continuous service.

If three-phase is available and gas impossible, the NDE80 is the only electric döner grill at 80 kg/day in the catalogue. If neither gas nor three-phase is available, the NDE60 (230V, 40 kg/day) is the only electric alternative.
What restaurateurs ask
- Is three-phase common in commercial catering premises?
- Yes, in the vast majority of commercial premises built after 1990. Professional kitchens, shopping arcades, industrial zones and commercial zones almost always have three-phase — the professional electrical standard that allows installing all heavy kitchen equipment (combi oven, refrigerated cabinet, dishwasher, etc.). The problem premises are old Haussmann-era buildings or premises converted to single-phase only. Check with your electrician or landlord before ordering.
- Can the NDE80 be installed directly or is an electrician needed?
- The NDE80 on three-phase 400V needs connection by a qualified electrician if the premises do not already have a three-phase socket at the planned location. The cost of running a three-phase cable varies between €200 and €800 depending on the distance from the board. If a three-phase 400V socket (5-pin / CEE 16 or 32 A type) is already accessible at the planned location, the connection is direct — no electrician intervention required.
- Is the 80 kg/day capacity per cycle or per day?
- The stated capacity (80 kg/day) is the total daily production — i.e. the quantity of meat that can be cooked and sliced over a full service day (typically 10 to 12 hours). It does not correspond to the physical spit capacity (maximum weight on the axis at a given moment). In practice, the spit is loaded, sliced to exhaustion, reloaded — the 80 kg/day accumulates over the whole service in several successive columns depending on demand.
