- Yes — doneness is controlled by the cooking time in the heated water bath. Set the time for soft-boiled (around 5–6 min), medium (7–8 min) or hard-boiled (9–11 min) depending on egg size and starting temperature, and the result repeats cycle after cycle once you have calibrated your timing.
- Does it need a gas installation?
